We are a community development initiative dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in rural Romania in the Pietra Neamt region. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the municipality's ability and budget and the needs of the residents. We are aiming to achieve a sense of belonging and community while addressing aging populations and limited community spaces. We use the strengths that the area already has, such as social cohesion and safety, and bring new opportunities for the wishes of the people.
We want to make a Community Gazebo. This project creates a central, accessible hub for social interaction, cultural events, meetings, education, and activities, such as a traditional music or barbecue. We want to achieve this by claiming abandoned land and building a safe, budget-proof, multi-generational space that strengthens the community and increases residents' happiness.
Our team consists of 6 people, 5 Dutch students and 1 Romanian student. We divide the skills and tasks among the whole team. For the project, we used tools such as PESTEl-analysis, SLF-framework, SWOT, and project management. Members of our team went to stakeholder meetings and joined an economic hub. We used these tools to ensure the project meets the needs of Piatra Neamț.
