PAVED FOR THE PEOPLE

Building safer roads for the community in Raucesti

As a group we were given the task to visit a small village in Romania and look for an issue that affected different communities. Each group was given specific areas to research, in Romania we visited the area we were assigned to and started doing research to investigate the problems that were affecting the people in the community. We did our research by observing the area and interviewing some people that lived there with the help of our Romanian counterpart, we collected all the information that we gathered and came to a conclusion that the main issue in our area was unsafe roads.

Our goal as a group is to convince the mayor to implement speed bumps, pedestrian crossings, and sidewalks in the area to allow freedom of movement of the people living in the community. We think it’s important for the community to have safer roads so that people can walk safely and live peacefully without having to worry about getting hit by the car and getting into road accidents.
