Company Description
We as a group of first year students, studying International Development Management at VHL, went to Romania for a week. We were asked by ADR (North-East Regional Development Agency) to identify problems that people living in Răucești experience and to come up with a project proposal. ADR is a non-governmental, non-profit organization which contributes to reducing regional disparities by stimulating the economic, social and cultural development of the North-East Region in Romania.
With the use of different tools we found out that the local community would greatly benefit from a community center to bring people together. This idea was found in two different areas of the region, which is why we as two groups collaborate today to share our knowledge.
Product Description
The community center would be a community-led safe space for people to meet and support each other. In the end we hope the community center will lead to young and old people being more connected, a stronger sense of belonging within people and an increased feeling of community.
About us
Our names are Brynn, Jana, Mayra, Roel, Björn, Leonie, Lilli, Mies and Sven. We are all first year International Development Management students. The IDM programme is about creating transitions towards a more just and sustainable world. Our current project is part of a module called ‘Just and Resilient Communities’.
