We are Buurt in Bloei (Neighborhood in Bloom), working together with Schone Straat & Groene Buurt, a social organization started by residents in Malburgen, Arnhem. Their mission is to increase residents’ involvement and sense of responsibility for their street and neighborhood.
Our mission is to turn grey, unused urban spaces into green, inclusive, and vibrant places. We aim to strengthen social bonds and improve livability by co-creating with the community.
Our project contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 11 (sustainable cities), SDG 13 and 15 (climate action and biodiversity), SDG 3 (well-being), and SDG 17 (partnerships).
We are transforming a paved square into a green and inviting meeting place for the neighborhood. By going door-to-door, collecting input during community evenings, and involving residents in every step, we turn their ideas into real improvements.
This project is not just about adding more green. It’s about creating a space where people meet and build connections. Together, we’re growing a stronger and greener neighborhood.
