AquaFarma is an innovative urban aquaponic farm based in the Netherlands, designed to tackle food sustainability and reduce environmental impact. By combining fish farming (aquaculture) with soilless plant cultivation (hydroponics), we create a closed-loop system that maximizes space, conserves water, and eliminates the need for synthetic fertilizers. Our modular and scalable setups can be integrated into urban spaces, making fresh produce and fish accessible year-round. AquaFarma’s mission is to offer healthy, locally-grown food while educating communities and businesses on sustainable farming. Whether for local markets, restaurants, or community-supported agriculture, AquaFarma helps shape a greener, food-secure future.
We offer a diverse selection of fresh, sustainably farmed products including lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, and basil—alongside high-quality tilapia and trout. Grown and raised in a closed-loop aquaponic system, our produce and fish are available for local markets, restaurants, and wholesalers seeking eco-friendly, locally-sourced food solutions.
AquaFarma was founded by three international students with a shared vision for sustainable food systems: Argiun Ankhbat from Mongolia and Sudarshan Arsul from India, both studying Agribusiness & Trade, and Pedro Miller from Mexico, enrolled in the Food Technology program. Together, they combine expertise in agriculture, trade, and food science to create a circular aquaponic system. Their passion for fish farming and innovative food production drives AquaFarma’s mission to offer eco-friendly, locally-grown fish and produce for modern markets.
