AgriPair is a digital platform designed to simplify and modernize the internship search
process within the agricultural sector. The platform connects agricultural students with
farmers o:ering internship opportunities, creating a centralized and user-friendly
space. Current internship search methods are often fragmented, time-consuming, and
heavily dependent on personal networks. Many students struggle to find suitable
placements, while farmers often have di:iculty finding motivated interns. AgriPair
addresses this gap by providing a sector-specific platform where students and farmers
can communicate directly and e:iciently. By strengthening connections between
students, farmers, and educational institutions, AgriPair aims to support the future
development of agriculture through practical learning opportunities and stronger
industry collaboration. The platform focuses on accessibility, transparency, reliability,
and innovation while helping reduce ine:iciencies in the current internship placement
process.
Students can create profiles containing information such as their educational
background, preferred agricultural sector, internship duration, language preferences,
skills, and experience. Farmers can create farm profiles that include information about
the farm type, internship tasks, required skills, working hours, accommodation
availability, and preferred languages. The platform allows students to browse internship
opportunities and communicate directly with farmers through an integrated messaging
system, reducing the need for external communication channels and improving
e:iciency. Farmers can also review student profiles and connect with suitable
candidates more easily. AgriPair operates through a subscription-based Business-to-
Business model in which educational institutions purchase access for their students,
while the platform remains free for students and farmers. The service focuses on
accessibility, transparency, networking, and collaboration while helping educational
institutions reduce administrative workload related to internship coordination.
Marei Laudenberg is a 23-year-old Animals, Society and Business student at Van Hall
Larenstein University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. She grew up with horses
in the United States and has lived in four countries, which shaped her international
outlook on agriculture and animals. As part of her studies, she completed an internship
on a dairy farm in Ireland, further developing her practical experience in livestock
systems and European agriculture. Her own search for internships as an international
student was challenging, especially finding the right contacts and opportunities. This
experience motivates her to improve accessibility and networking in the agricultural
sector through her work at AgriPair.
Adèle-Marie Bulos
Adèle-Marie Bulos is a 22-year-old student at Van Hall Larenstein, University of Applied
Sciences in the Netherlands. She studies Animal Husbandry with a focus in Animals,
Society, and Business. She is originally from Aruba, an island in the Caribbean, and
grew up with a passion for animals. She grew up wanting to study animals and has
always been dedicated to being able to work with animals. An on-hand farm internship
is required during her study, so she decided to go to Sweden for 10 weeks on a holistic
farm. This internship aided her in getting more practical knowledge and learning how to
apply her theoretical knowledge in a real-life situation. The experience on the farm was
wonderful, but the search for said internship was not. She struggled to find an
internship for months due to her lack of contact within the farming industry and the lack
of accessibility to farmers. Her experience with searching for an internship motivated
her to improve the connection and accessibility between students and farmers through
her work at AgriPair.
