We warmly welcome you to join us as we proudly present dozens innovative ideas from HVHL’s future entrepreneurs and sustainability ambassadors.

About 200 (inter)national bachelor students of the study programmes Animal Society and Business (ASB), Equine Sports and Business (ESB), Food Technology (FT), International Agribusiness and Trade (IAT), Management of the Living Environment (ML) and International Development Management (IDM) will showcase various products, services and ideas in the fair.

Highlight and Winning Projects 2025 

    On June 13, 2025, the annual HVHL Business Fair & Innovation Market took place – a day dedicated to showcasing the innovative, sustainable, and entrepreneurial projects developed by our students. In front of an audience of professionals, partners, fellow students, and a panel of expert judges, they demonstrated how theory and practice come together to create impactful solutions to societal challenges.

    The presentations were engaging and the students’ enthusiasm was truly inspiring. Several projects received multiple awards. We are proud to highlight the winning entries below:

    Mycopack1st Place Sustainability, 2nd Place Feasibility 

    Packaging made from mycelium: fully compostable, circular, and a sustainable replacement for plastic. A powerful example of biobased innovation.

    Fence Fenders1st Place Feasibility, 2nd Place Social Media

    An equestrian start-up focused on rider safety. Inspired by maritime safety technologies, Fence Fenders develops smart solutions for stables and training facilities.

    Buurt in BloeiPeople’s Choice for Year 2

    Encourages community connection through shared urban gardens. Promotes biodiversity, social cohesion, and a greener living environment.

    Algaequip1st Place Social Media

    Biodegradable fishing net material made from algae-based biopolymers. An innovative and eco-friendly alternative that helps combat plastic pollution in our oceans.

    A Day as an Adult1st Place Innovation Market

    An educational programme in which children (ages 8–13) visit local workplaces and actively participate in different professions. A playful way for young people to discover the value of working in rural areas.

    Zonde(r)2nd Place Innovation Market, People’s Choice for Year 1

    Plant-based alternatives to traditional snacks like chorizo. Zonde(r) helps consumers transition to more plant-based eating in an accessible and tasty way.

    Stek & Stijl2nd Place Sustainability

    A swap concept for clothes and plant cuttings. Creative, free, and sustainable – perfect for young people who want to consume more consciously.

    The 2025 edition of the Business Fair & Innovation Market once again highlighted the remarkable talent, entrepreneurial mindset, and social engagement of our students. We are proud of their achievements and thank all colleagues, partners, and visitors who made this event possible.
